I never claim to be a beauty expert (or a design expert) by any means, but thought I'd let you in on a tip. I have a sister-in-law who lives in Paris France. When she comes to the states for a visit, she always stocks up on a certain beauty product because she has a hard time finding it in Paris. Her product of choice? Lubriderm Daily Moisturizer. I finally bought it & have been using it for about 2 weeks now. I have to agree, it is a fantastic moisturizer & never leaves your skin with that greasy feeling. It also leaves your skin with a shine that I love. You can get it scented or fragrance free, which is what I have so I can't comment on the scented version. Hope you enjoy this quick tip.

I am jumping on the easy DIY laurel wreath bandwagon after being inspired by this pic from Casa Sugar:
I couldn't find many colorful plastic spoons so went with white & figured I could always spray paint it.
In process using:
1 pack white plastic spoons
glue sticks & glue gun
And the finished wreath:

Are you a lover of fish in your decor, specifically Marlins? I've been noticing that a lot of bloggers love it. If you are local, I found this on Craigslist:

See this rug in our office entry way? It has oil stains that won't go away.
Answer? Stain the rug!
I was inspired by this rug update by 'Gorgeous Shiny Things' & how she transformed her rug with Rit Dye. Hmm, maybe I can do that to our office rug?
Enter in the Rit Dye. I mixed it together with warm water & salt in an old spray bottle:
Ah, much better. I used 3 bottles of the dye.
Smile. Happy Monday!

I stumbled on this designers pics via Houzz & love this sun room.
According to the comments, the paint color is Benjamin Moore 'Courtyard Green'.
Here is a pic of my sun room that needs an update!
I also love this bathroom re-do. Check out the tile on the ceiling!

While at Goodwill this past weekend (the dressers were gone!), I spotted a nice brass console table for 50% off. It was in great shape & I decided to go for it with the idea of changing the brass to chrome. I have blogged about this type transformation before back in May, and thought this was a great chance to try it out. Here is the before pic:
I sprayed the 'secret ingredient' to the brass & let it sit for 30 minutes before rubbing it with fine
You can see in this pic that it is starting to do it's job.
I cleaned up the glass shelves & moved the console into our dining room.
My new table reminds me of this table on 1stdibs:
Do you have any brass pieces that could use an update? You should try it.

Do you like either of these 2 Dorothy Draper style dressers? White or Black?
I even saw these horse lamps locally at TJMaxx. So, why did I walk past 2 of these dressers at our local Goodwill yesterday when they were 50% off? They were only a little banged up & 1 was missing a knob. I don't know why I walked passed them. I talked myself out of them. Do you ever do that? Good thing there is another 50% off furniture sale tomorrow. I just might head back out there.

Hi Guys!! Hope you had a nice holiday weekend & were able to get to some projects. Us? Just a little. Our backyard project is progressing slowly due to volleyball tournaments, welder rebuilds, wisdom teeth extraction, etc. Just lots going on this summer & projects seem to be put on the back burner. We did manage to do some spray painting this past weekend on the patio furniture. I decided to prime it all first with:
Using my birthday gift:
It's not finished yet but here are a few progress pics:
I was able to find the granite tiles at a great local source, Surplus Warehouse. Minor detail: the new tiles are 12x12 but the opening is a tiny bit smaller than that:
This will involve getting out the tile cutter. Stay tuned....
