Trellis Pillows @ Target?

I first read about this here, and am happy to report that our local Target did have these imperial trellis pillows, but they were $12.99 each instead of on sale for $10.  Still a bargain!

I've blogged about Decorati before but thought today you would enjoy a feature they did on Kristin Drohan (Miami University, Oxford OH grad).  I love her style & her timeless approach to design.  She has an informative design website with lots of before & after shots as well as design advice.  Here are some of her projects:

She also does a 'Free Advice Friday' where she answers readers questions regarding fabrics, pillows & design in general.   Recently a reader asked her about using this pillow fabric for drapes.

Check out Kristin's website for more inspiration.
Happy Thursday!

Weekend Thrifty Finds

I managed to squeeze a weekend visit in to my favorite Goodwill here in Cincinnati.  I've been looking for a new round tray to go on my coffee table & I found it as well as 2 Waterford pieces.  The tray has a red tint to it for some reason, but that's ok since it will be spray painted.

I am thinking of this look from one of my favorite blogs:

Krylon Ivy Leaf spray paint

The Marquis Waterford pieces I found had a tag that said they are wine coasters.  I will probably use them for candy dishes but they were a bargain at $2 each.

Since the weather was warmer this weekend, I was able to get outside to start some spray paint priming of 2 pieces. The red tray is also a Goodwill find from awhile ago.  Love Goodwill!

Stay tuned & Happy Monday!

UPDATE: Here's my painted tray!

Happy Valentines Day!

I've been out of town the last few day so not many DIY projects. But thought I'd share some Valentines eye candy for you.  Have you seen this months Architectural Digest which shows the new upscale Ralph Lauren store that just opened in NY?  Gorgeous and always timeless. Here are some of the interiors:

Love the marble staircase, sticks in the large urn & the black light fixture.

The black walls look so crisp against the white.

Another urn with and stick arrangement. How about the chandelier encased in that sheer fabric?

If you've read my blog, you know I love all things metal. Those doors are amazing!

Metal banisters & love that gorgeous marble staircase.

Happy Valentines Day!

Quick Cleaning Tip-Easy Off Oven

I've blogged about using this cleaning product before here, but have found yet another good use for it.  Here is the formula:
1).  Have husband cook a overly full crock pot full of pork, sausage & sauerkraut all day for Super Bowl.
2).  Let it boil over for a few hours.
3).  Eat while watching the Packers beat the Steelers. (Yah!)
4).  Let nasty crock pot cool.

5).  Spray the inside of the crock with this:

6).  Let sit for 20 minutes & wipe up clean.  Smile!

Happy Wednesday!

Manzanita Branches in Decor

Are you a fan of Manzanita branches in decorating? Ever since we went to Baltimore last year and saw this in the hotel lobby, I've been noticing them everywhere and love it. The Manzanita branch is a lot stronger than most regular tree branches and is smooth and twisted:

Some inspirational pics using Manzanita:

West Elm has some fun options:
