A quick visit to IKEA this weekend to pick up a few things for around the house before the parties. I think checking out their website first before actually going there helps alot and avoids that overwhelming feeling when in that huge store! Here were some finds:
I am looking forward to this weekend, I think. We have a couple of parties planned & let's hope the sunny forecast is right. Oh, and I blogged a million few weeks back about an outdoor project we started, that is still in progress and won't be complete by this weekend. Oh well, kids won't be offended.
After seeing this post on Sweet Something Designs blog about free artwork, I was inspired to also do the same thing. She has lots of great DIY projects on her blog that you might want to check out. I had these old frames here at my office:
One of my daughters was encouraged to read this book, "Talent is Never Enough" from one of her coaches & she thought I would get something out of it as well. You might too! The author, John Maxwell is a well known leadership and motivational speaker.
Lot's of bloggers talk about their love of Etsy. I've never before purchased anything from Etsy but over the weekend, I found myself searching for new pillows or covers. I found these covers for $9.99 each & decided to give them a try. Can't wait for them to show up:
I spend a lot of time in my car driving it seems & one of my favorite things to do is to get books & audio books from our local library. I am in the middle of this audio book & it is awesome. Check it out if you are interested in the 'why' of our economy's collapse. The author, Michael Lewis, has written several financial best sellers such as "Liars Poker' as well as the best seller, "The Blind Side".
Going out to the movies soon & planning to see the movie "Inception" with Leonardo Dicaprio. Here in Cincinnati, the Rave theaters are 50% off on Tuesday's. Have you seen this movie yet? Here is the trailer:
UPDATE: Awesome! Go check it out......
On a random note, if you are looking for a blog that has lots of design tips for your blog, check out:
It's official, I am hooked on stripes!! I needed a new soap dispenser in my hall bath off the kitchen so I bought this one at Homegoods, but it just needed a little update to go with the stripes already in the bathroom. Here is the bathroom wall striped:
Little bit of Frog Tape
Little bit of Valspar metallic spray paint
Couldn't stop there. Next, on to my office where my metal supply cabinet needed an update:
Ah, loving the stripes. I also would love to try this chevron project, but stripes are just so easy. You should try it!
