Tired of your old, gray, stone fireplace?

So was I. There was no way my husband was going to tear it down. He was emotionally tied to those stones since we built the house 20 years ago. The bricklayer told us to seal it with Thompsons water seal which darkened it & the light gray stone color never came back. Is that the ugliest fireplace you have ever seen or what?

So, what to do? Paint of course. Prime, paint, then faux paint. I actually didn't paint this myself, but had 2 awesome girls from Cincinnati do the painting.

What do you think of the progression? Of course, this started a transformation in the entire great room!!! Stay tuned....

  6. So beautiful! My fireplace is brick but it has that dark mortar which makes it look dated. I am tempted but afarid to paint!
